Main responsibilities
This role is accountable for disease-area medical strategy, market shaping initiatives, and scientific engagement across the Interventional Radiology portfolio. While the role includes meaningful field engagement and scientific exchange activities, it is distinct from a pure MSL role and carries responsibility for strategic planning, cross-functional leadership, and external ecosystem development.
Objectives/ Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Deepen scientific knowledge of the company’s Interventional Radiology (IR) portfolio and its clinical applications.
- Support the planning and execution of scientific activities and events in IR, including symposia, advisory boards, and expert panel meetings.
- Lead and deliver medical activities in IR, such as scientific presentations, critical literature reviews, medical responses to enquiries, review of local promotional materials, and scientific training for internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development and execution of local medical strategies for IR, unmet medical needs assessment, evidence generation, and lifecycle planning, monitor medical goals, and ensure strong cross‑functional communication aligned with global medical and local business priorities.
- Act as a scientific liaison with the medical community, serving as a strategic scientific partner and field-based representative of Medical Affairs for healthcare providers (HCPs) to facilitate scientific exchange, medical education, research interactions, and insights gathering. The role requires regular field engagement to conduct high-quality scientific exchange and insight generation; however, field activities are planned and prioritized based on medical strategy.
- Identify, engage, and maintain collaborative partnerships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to support current and future portfolio activities, ensuring ethical, timely, and customer‑focused dissemination of clinical and scientific information on marketed and pipeline products to support long-term scientific collaboration plans, evidence generation, and disease education initiatives.
- Ensure comprehensive medical support for pre‑launch, launch, and post‑launch activities, acting as the medical lead in cross-functional planning and decision-making forums.
- Conduct scientific exchange with KOLs and regional Thought Leaders at key academic centers, professional societies, and clinical institutions regarding product efficacy, safety, value, and emerging clinical trends.
- Lead and support market shaping initiatives through collaboration with academic societies, guideline committees, and expert groups, including contribution to clinical guideline development, consensus statements, and scientific positioning in alignment with medical strategy and compliance requirements.
- Handle responses to unsolicited medical information requests in IR, including literature, clinical guidelines, and peer‑to‑peer scientific connections, in compliance with company policies.
- Identify, collect, and communicate medical insights related to IR market dynamics, competitors, research developments, and clinical practice trends, including insights gathered from congresses.
- Prepare, review, and ensure implementation of local Medical Affairs standard operating procedures and assess alignment with global policies.
- Develop and review medical content, expert reports, educational materials, and dossiers for local use.
- Facilitate investigator‑initiated studies (IIS) with Guerbet products and support the development of educational initiatives in accordance with medical strategy.
- Provide internal scientific training to cross‑functional teams as needed.
- Support data collection and reporting related to safety events associated with the use of Guerbet products, in collaboration with appropriate internal functions.
- Manage daily operational tasks and coordinate the activities of the administrative resource within the IR Medical Affairs team.

Education, skills, and background required for the job.
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field (Medicine, Pharmacy, Biological Sciences, Nursing); advanced degrees are a plus.
- Demonstrated experience in medical strategy development, disease-area leadership, or market shaping initiatives is strongly preferred.
- Strong scientific communication skills and proven ability to engage with KOLs and present clinical data effectively.
- Fluent in English; proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross‑functional environment and build strong external partnerships.
- Strategic, solution‑oriented mindset with strong prioritization and organizational skills.
- High level of accountability, adaptability, and ability to perform under pressure.
- Strong ethics and compliance mindset, adhering to internal policies and regulations.
- Willingness to travel approximately 40%, including overnight trips.
