WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist to join our team. This role is crucial in developing, maintaining, and administering programs and procedures that ensure the health, safety, and environmental compliance of our Raleigh CMDS Plant. Reporting directly to the head of EHS for the site, ideal candidate will be adapt at handling both strategic and day-to-day EHS needs, ensuring we meet regulatory requirements and corporate expectations especially in the environmental realm. This position is located at our Raleigh, NC location.
YOUR ROLE
- Develop, maintain, and administer comprehensive environmental, health, and safety programs.
- Support the creation and submission of Corporate, Plant, and regulatory reports.
- Serve as an internal resource for Plant departments on EHS issues.
- Participate in Plant audits and equipment evaluations to ensure EHS compliance.
- Provide training to communicate and enforce Plant EHS programs and policies.
- Inspect and review plant operations, recommending corrective actions for safety, health, and environmental hazards.
- Actively participate in and oversee the plant’s emergency response teams.
- Create, review, and update standard operating procedures and work instructions related to EHS.
- Ensure safe working conditions in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures.
- Report all safety and environmental incidents to management immediately.
YOUR BACKGROUND
Education
- BS degree in physical or biological science or engineering.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, and/or environmental science.
Skills/Competencies
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations.
- Familiarity with current good manufacturing practices and experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Competency in using Windows-based computer programs.
