WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The Filling Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the filling operations within a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. This includes managing personnel, ensuring compliance with cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices), maintaining production efficiency, and upholding quality and safety standards. The Filling Supervisor operates in full compliance with applicable hygiene, safety, quality, and regulatory standards, and in alignment with the organization’s framework, company’s procedures, and the defined scope of responsibility the role is accountable for.

YOUR ROLE

  • Supervise Filling Operations:
    • Oversee daily filling activities for sterile and non-sterile pharmaceutical products.
    • Ensure adherence to production schedules and batch records.
    • Monitor line performance and implement improvements to maximize efficiency.
  • Compliance & Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure all operations comply with cGMP, SOPs, and regulatory requirements.
    • Collaborate with Quality Assurance to resolve deviations and implement corrective actions.
    • Conduct line clearance and in-process checks.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Lead, train, and evaluate filling line operators and technicians.
    • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
    • Schedule shifts and manage workforce allocation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management

Department Specific/Non-Essential Functions:

  • Equipment & Maintenance:
    • Coordinate with maintenance teams for equipment calibration and repairs.
    • Ensure proper setup, operation, and cleaning of filling equipment.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate production records, including batch documentation and logbooks.
    • Prepare reports on production metrics, downtime, and incidents.

YOUR BACKGROUND

  • Required Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Biotechnology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
    • 5+ years of supervisory experience in a filling environment
    • Strong knowledge of cGMP, aseptic techniques, and regulatory compliance
    • Proficiency in production management systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Preferred Qualifications
    • Six-Sigma Greenbelt or Lean Certified
    • SAP experience
    • Mechanical aptitude

Physical Requirements:.

  • Ability to stand and sit for extended periods of time
  • Lifting of 50 pounds or more for short periods of time
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and electric lifts

Cognitive Requirements:

  • Must be able to read and understand military time
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to present information clearly and concisely to large groups
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships and communicate professionally
