 WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor is a member of the Engineering Leadership team.  As such, this position actively participates as a leader and/or a team member on assigned plant projects and provides technical support to team members on a variety of equipment and systems. This position will be based out of the Raleigh, NC site. 
Under the general supervision of the Engineering Manager, this position is responsible for managing the execution of all building-related operations on a day-to-day basis. This includes building and utility maintenance, pest control, landscaping, and custodial services.
Desired competencies include demonstrated ability to plan and implement maintenance work such as troubleshooting, repairs, major/minor upgrades to existing equipment, and support of the commissioning and integration of new equipment and systems into the facility. Additionally, this position ensures that continuous, high quality cGMP utilities for production operations are available, as well as ensuring regulatory compliance of utility and site wide systems under the control of the Facilities team.
The ideal candidate should be a motivated, self-starting leader who can manage multiple tasks and priorities within a fast paced environment.
 
YOUR ROLE:
  • Manage the generation and quality of plant utilities meeting all required standards in a consistent, reliable manner.
  • Schedule, plan and execute maintenance operations, both preventative and corrective.
  • Maintain and proactively manage compliance with Company policies and regulatory requirements including all federal, state, and local codes/regulations.
  • Manage (review, schedule, assign, close, trend) maintenance work orders to facility maintenance technicians.
  • Coordinate and schedule outside services, as necessary, to support utility and facility systems throughout the site.
  • Support, review, assess and counsel project teams regarding all aspects of specification, selection, design, placement, standardization and procedures for new equipment and facility modifications.
  • Manage preventative maintenance (PM) work orders on schedule with appropriate backlog of corrective maintenance (CM) work orders.
  • Manage and integrate department with reliability maintenance strategies and methods throughout the site in order to provide maximum availability of equipment and facilities.
  • Develop recommendations and assist with implementation of methods, procedures and techniques for improving maintenance of existing/new systems.
  • Assure, create, review, approve and oversee documentation to maintain appropriate and required records supporting the maintenance of facility equipment.

  • Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures and in a manner that eliminates unreasonable risk to health and the environment.  Notify management of unsafe conditions or practices, unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk.  Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to management immediately.
 
YOUR BACKGROUND:
  • Associate degree (plus 5+ years related work experience) or bachelor’s degree (less than 5 years related work experience) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution (required).
  • Minimum 2 years of supervision experience in installation, maintenance and operation in a regulated environment (food, beverage, or pharmaceutical).
  • Practical working knowledge of engineering disciplines (e.g. fluid flow, thermodynamics, heat transfer, engineering materials).
  • Knowledge of cGMPs, FDA, purchasing practices and cost management.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and comprehend blueprints, electrical schematics and engineering specifications
  • Must have basic understanding of electrical principals and must be familiar with the National Electrical Code.
  • Experience in problem solving, documentation, testing and troubleshooting of complex electronic and mechanical systems.

  • Exhibits strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Windows operating system 
  • Written Communication: The individual can write effective documentation, edits work for spelling and grammar, presents numerical data effectively and is able to read and interpret written information.
