WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Calibration Technician to join our Engineering team. This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, documentation, and calibration of instrumentation equipment essential for plant operations. You will actively participate in assigned plant projects and provide technical support to team members on various instrumentation and control equipment. This position is located at our Raleigh, NC location. This role works Monday-Thursday, 3:00PM-1:30AM (4 tens schedule).

 

YOUR ROLE

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate instrumentation and control systems on process equipment.
  • Ensure product quality through the calibration and maintenance of production instrumentation and controls.
  • Complete scheduled and unscheduled work orders and preventative maintenance duties, while documenting all activities.
  • Develop, review, and perform calibrations per standard operating procedures for required instrumentation.
  • Provide technical support to process mechanics, utilities mechanics, and production personnel as needed.
  • Recognize and troubleshoot malfunctioning instrumentation and controls independently.
  • Assist in training plant personnel on new and/or modified equipment or procedures related to instrumentation.
  • Support validations and revalidations as needed.
  • Assist in the procurement of stock and repair parts.
  • Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures, and report any safety or environmental incidents to management immediately.

 

YOUR BACKGROUND

Education

  • High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent (required)
  • Associate’s Degree in Electrical Technology or related field (preferred)

Experience

  • Working knowledge of tools and test equipment used for testing, calibrating, repairing, and maintaining production instruments and controls.
  • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, electrical schematics, and engineering specifications.
  • Basic understanding of electrical principles and familiarity with the National Electrical Code.
  • Experience with a variety of electronic and pneumatic test instruments, hand tools, supplies, and other shop equipment.

Skills/Competencies

  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Windows operating system.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to perform basic algebraic and geometrical mathematical functions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).
