The US Compliance Counsel role requires a multi-faceted health care compliance and ethics professional with experience in several compliance areas such as risk assessment and mitigation planning, investigations, and compliance auditing and monitoring.  

 

YOUR ROLE

  • Design and support the implementation of key compliance program initiatives. 

  • Provide practical legal guidance and innovative solutions for compliance with the Anti-Kickback Statute and other fraud and abuse statutes.

  • Lead the development and update of company policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance and mitigate potential disputes.

  • Develop and conduct employee training related to compliance requirements.

  • Build, maintain, and strategically influence relationshiops across all areas of the company.

  • Assist as the legal expert on the Product Review Committee (PRC) responsible for review of all promotional and advertising activities.

  • Provide support to Regulatory Authority inspections and Field Alert Report tracking.

  • Conduct and oversee investigations, ensuring meaningfull metrics and reporting.

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Juris Doctorate degree from a USA accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing

  • 10+ years of experience in health care compliance and regulatory law

  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant health care laws applicable to pharmaceutical companies with focus on drugs and medical devices, Sunshine Act, False Claims Act, state and federal anti-kickback laws, FDA rules

  • Ability to provide practical and business-oriented legal advice and weigh legal risk against business needs.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Must make decisions based on sound judgment and display the highest level of ethical conduct and integrity.

  • Proven analytical skills and strategic decision-making ability.

  • Proven ability to issue spot, multi-task, and manage multiple competing priorities.

  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, able to develop, summarize and deliver complex ideas in a way that is clearly understood by multiple audiences.

  • Previous experience in a health care industry

  • Ability to travel 10-25%

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Working knowledge of federal reimbursement guidelines, CMS requirements, state transparency pricing regulations, HIPAA and privacy laws

  • Experience in health care promotion and advertising related contracts.

  • Background on science or marketing

  • High attention to detail, influencing and problem solving skills.

  • Self-starter, self-motivate, flexible and positive individual who thrives in a dynamic environment.

  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills;excellent judgment

  • Abilty to develop work plans to meet project timelines and milestones.

  • Experience in designing and delivering training programs, conducting risk assessments, due diligence, data privacy or implementing policy changes.

  • Experience in auditing company's compliance with health care compliance policies and procedures
