WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The General Accounting Pleno Analyst will dedicate 100% of time to R2R processes and activities inherent to the Fixed Assets area, fixed assets analysis and review, fixed assets account reconciliations, data analysis, follow up on open items, GL reviews, communication with stakeholders, etc.
YOUR ROLE
General Scope:
• Provides support to the Senior Analysts and Manager regarding the daily activities and operation.
• Performs general accounting activities, including the preparation, maintenance, and reconciliation of ledger accounts.
• Supports daily, monthly, and yearly accounting and reporting activities for the SSC MEX General accounting activities.
• Supports period and closing activities including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations and rolls forwards.
• Prepares, records, analyzes, and reports accounting transactions and ensures the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles.
• Accountable for the professional support that is due to customers to ensure a high tier customer satisfaction level.
• Handle all incoming calls/e-mails/tickets from the business. Try to solve these issues and escalate them to relevant team, when required.
• Build strong collaborative networks with key stakeholders and ensure good/adequate communication.
• Maintain and adhere to record to report procedural documentation.
• Trains team members and provides input to General Accounting Lead.
• Reports to General Accounting Lead
Detailed Scope
- Apply HQ Fixed Assets Policies.
- Record fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions in the accounting system.
- Track the compilation of project costs (Capital in Progress) into fixed asset accounts and close out those accounts once the related projects have been completed.
- Reconcile the balance in the fixed asset subsidiary ledger to the summary-level account in the general ledger.
- Calculate depreciation for all fixed assets.
- Review and update the detailed schedule of fixed assets and accumulated depreciation for the following countries: US, Mexico, Panama, Chile, and Colombia
- Conduct analyses related to fixed assets as requested by management.
- Record entries to maintain capital leases and corresponding assets and liabilities.
- Complete entries and reconciliations related to IFRS-16 (Leases).
- Adjust and maintain injector asset accounts outside of the fixed asset system and reconcile periodically.
- Prepare audit schedules relating to fixed assets and assist the auditors in their inquiries.
- Complete monthly schedules related to Fixed Assets in the SAPFC Reporting Tool
- Assign Project numbers upon approval of investment request.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
YOUR BACKGROUND
- Professional with a desirable knowledge of the R2R function, proactive, inquisitive, takes ownership, and wants to grow their personal and professional skills.
- Intermediate knowledge and understanding of R2R processes, their associated risks and mitigating internal controls.
- Bilingual profile. English required.
- Ability to drive results and accountability.
- Ability to work across multi-national cultures and to operate effectively in a global business.
- Ability to understand and deal with dynamic business issues.
- Good analytical skills in order to select the right process improvement projects.
- High energy, open and flexible, results-oriented who can set and meet deadlines.
- Requires excellent communication skills (verbally and written).
- Flexibility and ability to prioritize task independently.
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, such as IFRS and internal control principles, both in theory and in practice, combined with self-driven and analytical approach.
- Intermediate experience in all Microsoft Office packages (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook).
- Experience in ERP systems (SAP and JDE) as well as GL modules.
