WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The Quality Control Microbiologist will be focused on performing in process, water and finished product QC microbiology testing in the Microbiology Lab, managing environmental monitoring program and performing micro investigations.
YOUR ROLE
- Planning and coordination of all QC microbiological testing with Quality Control Lead
- Perform testing on in-process, water and finished product API
- Peer review and approval of laboratory results
- Ensuring that analytical testing is carried out in compliance with all site SOPs and GXP standards
- Coordinate and perform environmental monitoring of packaging area
- Investigate QC and plant microbiology issues with support for QC Lead and Group Microbiologists
- Train QC Chemists in appropriate microbiology test methods and procedures
- Introduction of new techniques to the lab, including method transfers, validation protocols
- Other project work as determined by Quality Control Lead
- Technical Support/coaching for QC Chemist group on microbiology issues as required
- Support other QC tasks as required
Continuous Improvement
- Continuously improving the efficiency and performance of the QC Microbiology laboratory through Implementation of modifications, improvements and work simplifications as appropriate
- Ensuring that investigations and root cause analysis are completed to drive improvements and determine root causes where required
Compliance
- Adhere to the site safety programme
- Actively participate in QC cost improvement programmes
YOUR BACKGROUND
Education Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Microbiology.
Experience
- Minimum 2-3 year’s relevant microbiology testing laboratory experience, using hands-on analytical techniques
- Aptitude for computer operations essential including LIMS / Empower experience
- LIMS/Empower experience advantageous
- Demonstrated lean capability advantageous
- Good computer skills.
