Location : Dublin, Mulhuddart
Role purpose : In close cooperation with the EHS Manager and the EHS Team, the EHS Engineer will ensure the plant’s EHS management system is developed, implemented and maintained to achieve an Incident and Injury Free workplace through effectively functioning processes, procedures, practices and equipment.
Your responsibilities :
• Develop, promote and maintain a strong, pro-active health & safety culture on site.
• Develop, implement and ensure compliance with site EHS management system programs like: contractor control, hazardous work and permit to work Program, chemical safety program, PPE, Electrical safety and Fire safety Programs, etc.
• Maintain effective training programs and deliver training on EHS matter on site.
• Manage the facility's internal audits and inspection program and track action item completion.
• Generate reports on EHS data, analyse trends, and lead EHS initiatives
• Monitor legal compliance and establish effective procedures to address any weaknesses promptly. Conduct EHS compliance assessments in the plant.
• Assisting in ensuring EHS action tracking and management across all functions of the organisation.
• Coordinate and lead task, area and equipment related health and safety risk assessments.
• Support the development and maintenance of a comprehensive EHS management system (according ISO 45001). Develop and integrate EHS Representatives in EHS MS, Lead EHS site Committee.
• Ensure incident investigations and corrective actions are tracked to closure.
• Conduct manual handling and ergonomic assessments.
• Conduct assessments of compliance on batch records and other manufacturing related documentation.
• Support maintenance of the site’s Emergency Response Team and Emergency Response Plan, addressing the site’s obligations as an Upper Tier Seveso Site.
• Ensure continuous improvement in EHS training programme effectiveness, developing and delivering EHS training modules and briefings.
• Assist with other EHS related tasks such as updating of documentation in a GMP environment, assist with Regulatory Agency inspections and communications.
• Ensure that EHS roles and responsibilities are complied with, addressing the requirements of the site’s Health & Safety Management System.
• Support Security activities and access control.
• Perform other related duties as assigned from time to time based on company needs.

Your profile :
• Primary Degree in Engineering or Science specialising in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.
• 3-5 years’ experience working in an Occupational Health and Safety role within bulk pharmaceutical manufacturing, oil & gas or chemicals industry environment is highly desirable.
• Mature EHS leader
• Previous experience of a Seveso site, IED Licence / ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 & GMP manufacturing is an advantage.
• Internal auditor experience and manual handling trainer qualifications, VDU assessor qualification is desirable.
• Highly organised and capable of working on own initiative.
• Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and interact across all levels of the organisation.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to conduct independent internal audits and inspections.
• Strong analytical and engineering skills.
• Good influencing and training skills.
• Excellent report compiling and writing skills.
• Mindset of continuous improvement and accountability for EHS System implementation at site
