Plant Controlling Manager

Summary of Position

The Plan Controller leads the accounting / finance function and proactively manages the plant's cost savings initiatives.  The Plant Controller continuously improves the procedures and systems neccessary to manage complex accounting operations while providing concise, regular and ad hoc reporting for plant and  corporate management.  

 

Essential Functions

  1. Timely preparation and communication of financial information that supports the company's reporting requirements and assists management in plant operations
  2. Leads the site’s monthly financial closing process (two-day close) and ensure reconciliation between local ERP and reported financial performance
  3. Prepares monthly financial, inventory, headcount, and capital forecasts for upcoming months with focus on forecast accuracy
  4. Prepares the annual 5 Year Plan & operating budget and variance plan for the site
  5. Owner of internal controls for the site in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley standards
  6. Accurately maintains the general ledger and account reconciliations
  7. Continuously improves the cost accounting system, policies, procedures, and reports to improve data quality, quantity, and timeliness
  8. Oversees the development and maintenance of standard product costs
  9. Maintains the site’s delegation of authority matrix and ensures compliance
  10. Prepares, reviews, and submits the monthly key performance metrics for the site
  11. Lead the work of the accounting / finance department, developing and managing a senior analyst, cost accountant, and senior clerk
  12. Leads the plant's cost reduction efforts by identifying, evaluating, and tracking cost reduction programs
  13. Will lead the implementation of SAP as part of the NAM roll out
  14. Provides ad hoc support for numerous plant and corporate financial requests
  15. Business Partner to the Plant Director, drive operating and financial results and make specific recommendations to management resulting in cost reductions.

  1. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

Education required/ preferred:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.  MBA preferred.

Experience:

Minimum 8 years finance / accounting, primarily manufacturing related required

Two years of supervisory experience (preferred).  Accustomed to working in the lead accounting / finance role in an organization 

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

CMA / CPA / MBA preferred

Effective managing multiple tasks with quick turnaround times

Pro-actively take charge and drive for results

Effective managing and developing staff to provide flexible, accurate, and expeditious support of numerous requests in a fast-paced environment

Ability to quickly learn new systems and apply educational and work experience to unique manufacturing situations

Effective leadership and management skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Skills/Competencies:

Strong computer skills-proficient in Excel and Word; ability to work with mainframe systems

Other Skills:

Willingness to work outside of normal business hours in order to meet deadlines

Be familiar with ERP systems as SAP (Must have) and BIPCS (Nice to have)

Dotted line reporting to       Head of TechOps Controller

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Normal office environment and mainly In Person.
