The Manufacturing Electrical Engineer is responsible for manufacturing electrical engineering activities relevant to meeting the plant Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and New Launch KPIs.

 

YOUR ROLE

  • Collaborate with Production, Quality, Procurement, and D&E departments to continuously look for improvement actions to grow within the OPEX Plant development model.
  • To be able to design, develop testing, and make changes to existing Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBA) while supporting manufacturing processes for new and current production-released medical devices.
  • Work with D&E/Sustainment teams to design and develop new/existing PCBAs for new and production-released medical devices.
  • Working with the Associate Electrical Engineer to oversee and perform PCBA and medical device troubleshooting down to the component level in support of production and the material review board (MRB).
  • Support project lead with new product implementation
  • Work with PCBA suppliers to develop testing methods, in-circuit & functional test fixtures, and processes to maintain high-quality products with low first-time failures.
  • Prepare or collect estimates for capital equipment requirements for production and new product plans. Create capital equipment requests (CERs) when required.
  • Develop process procedures, Work Instructions (WI), and Quality Plans for the production products.
  • Evaluate and implement improvements to product assembly procedures and/or operation equipment, considering safety and ergonomics.
  • Develop, review, and approve engineering change orders (ECOs) considering safety, quality, cost, and delivery improvements.
  • Develop, document, and lead product and/or process pilot runs and validations.
  • Generate potential cost reduction opportunities. Evaluate project feasibility and implement justifiable projects.
  • Lead and/or support efforts for continuous improvements using the appropriate methods required, ex: CAPA (corrective action, preventative action) / Six Sigma methodology, or others.
  • Lead and/or support 5S efforts and other lean activities for production work areas.
  • Support daily manufacturing problem-solving.
  • Collaboration with other groups via Focus Factory Setup Structure and support the progress towards OPEX (Operational Excellence)
  • Perform other duties required as directed by the Manufacture Engineering Manager.

 

YOUR BACKGROUND

  • Strong understanding of electronic circuit analyses
  • A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or an Associate degree in Electrical engineering with a minimum of two years of experience with electromechanical device manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Experience with electrical medical device assembly and design a plus.
  • Experience with assembly and test manufacturing equipment from capital justification through launch.
  • Experience with PCBA design using Altium and or equivalent software applications.
  • Experience with electrical hardware design, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and implement improvements independently and to propose changes to existing methods, procedures, processes, and/or products.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple open projects simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Visual acuity for production and identification of quality product purposes.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, TEAMS)
