WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a professional experience Maintenance Supervisor to support our facility. This position is responsible for the supervision and execution of all maintenance-related activities for the site. This includes equipment, building and utility maintenance, pest control, landscaping, and custodial services. This position is also responsible for the coordination and implementation of maintenance projects.

YOUR ROLE

  • Schedule, plan and execute maintenance operations, both preventative and corrective
  • Coordinate, schedule, and manage outside services relating to facility and production maintenance.
  • Maintenance of the Work Order and Preventive Maintenance Programs
  • Supervise Maintenance Technicians.
  • Ensure safety rules and practices are always followed during maintenance activities.
  • Perform supervisory tasks as required.
  • Ensure that preventive and corrective maintenance activities are completed in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that records of maintenance activities are properly documented and maintained.
  • Ensure sufficient availability of spare parts necessary for the immediate repair of critical equipment.
  • Provide financial due diligence on external expenditures and maintain expenses within budget.
  • Maintain the facility and grounds to a level acceptable for a medical device site.
  • Report on the performance of the maintenance department activities.
  • Maintain the department’s Visual Management Board(s).
  • Participate in workplace continuous improvement projects.
  • Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures and in a manner that eliminates unreasonable risk to health and the environment. Notify management of unsafe conditions or practices, unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk. Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to management immediately
  • Requires successful completion of assigned training.

Department Specific/Non-Essential Functions:

  • Perform other duties that might be required as directed management.

YOUR BACKGROUND

  • Associate degree related to Maintenance/the skilled trades plus 3+ years related work experience, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience required.
  • Direct experience in the electrical, plumbing, and/or carpentry trades is highly preferred.
  • Building maintenance and/or industrial experience in a regulated environment (food, beverage, cosmetics, medical device, or pharmaceutical) is preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of supervision experience required.
  • Able to read and comprehend blueprints, electrical schematics, and engineering specifications.
  • Understanding of electrical principles and must be familiar with the National Electrical Code.
  • Must be familiar with the National Fire Protection Code (NFPA).
  • Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) is preferred
  • Exhibits good computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally at all levels.
  • Maintains confidentiality, remains open to other ideas, and exhibits willingness to try new things.
  • Able to prioritize and plan work activities, use time efficiently and develop realistic action plans.
  • Adaptable to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and can deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
  • Dependable and a team player - consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance.
  • Working knowledge of the skilled trades required. This position also requires successful completion of training/certification program(s), as assigned.
  • Ability to maintain a professional demeanour always, and particularly when under pressure.
