WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The Software Engineer Co-op will support Software Engineers in the design, development, testing, and evaluation of software, including operating systems and potential network control systems. Collaborate with software, hardware, and cross-functional team members to develop integrated medical device solutions. Participate in system specification activities to understand end-user needs and deliver software solutions aligned with customer and product requirements. Responsibilities may include system modeling, design, simulation, writing or modifying complex code, debugging, and verifying that software performance meets specifications.

YOUR ROLE

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software leads, systems, quality, and regulatory, to develop and maintain software for new and existing products.
  • Recommend improvements to development environments to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of software development and unit testing.
  • Analyze issues, identify root causes, and propose solutions for review.
  • Support quality, regulatory, and production groups to ensure software releases are properly validated and transitioned to production.
  • Participate in meetings to understand requirements and maintain traceability through design, verification, and validation.
  • Follow established coding standards to maintain a consistent, understandable code base.
  • Participate in code reviews and follow applicable quality procedures.
  • Maintain awareness of applicable quality and regulatory requirements and understand their impact on software activities.
  • Support validation of software tools used in the development and production of platform software.

YOUR BACKGROUND

  • Enrolled in and actively participating in a Software Engineering program at an accredited college or university, with a preferred minimum of two years completed.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, TEAMS)
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of desktop publishing software, such as Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an understanding of applicable quality and regulatory requirements.
