WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for an experienced Associate Systems Engineer to assist in the creation and administration of integrated requirements for medical device products within a cross-functional team, along with related programs, procedures, processes, and tools. This person will support lead system engineers in ensuring that mechanical, electrical, and software subsystems operate reliably as an integrated system.
YOUR ROLE
- Contribute to the generation, review, and release of an integrated requirements package, including risk management principles and traceability that support the development and life cycle management of class II medical devices.
- Contribute to defining new or aligning existing system / subsystem architectures, by applying systems engineering processes. Specify module / component / user interfaces.
- Develop and implement system verification/validating testing protocols and reports
- Evaluate proposed changes to current products to determine overall impact on the integrated system.
- Work with other functional team members (i.e., software, electrical, mechanical, service, quality, etc.) to resolve system / interface issues by evaluating overall systems’ performance / function.
- Participate in technical reviews as defined in a structured, multi-stage, gated product development process.
- Participate in the development, review, and revision of procedures to support the use of systems engineering and risk management methodologies.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Department Specific/Non-Essential Functions:
- Complete all assigned training by the due date.
- Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures and in a manner that eliminates unreasonable risk to health and the environment. Notify management of unsafe conditions or practices, unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk. Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to management immediately
- Performs other duties as assigned by management
YOUR BACKGROUND
- Enrolled in and actively participating in an engineering program at an accredited college or university, with a preferred minimum of two years completed.
- Experience in requirements development, risk management, system, and verification/validation engineering or equivalent, preferred.
- Knowledge in medical device design, preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem solving and negotiation skills.
- Self-starter and capable of working with minimal supervision. Ability to multi-task across multiple projects.
- Strong computer skills, and knowledge of desktop publishing software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suites)
- Working knowledge of Agile PLM software preferred
- Working knowledge of Jama software preferred
- Must be computer literate, including being comfortable and capable of using software programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and willingness to expand and increase these competencies.
