EE Architect - New Product Introduction

The Electrical Engineering Architect, NPI, leads the specification, design, and development of electrical subsystems for the next generation platform.

The position has design responsibility to ensure that programs achieve all design objectives required to meet customer and business needs. The EE Architect understands and captures user needs and is responsible for the electrical architectural decomposition and allocation to subsystems.

The EE Architect can also manage a talented team of EE engineers involved in the project.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Drive every aspect of the product development cycle: specification, design, verification, and production.
  • Identify and organize the selection of development partners, prototyping, and manage outsourced developments.
  • Develop test strategies.
  • Prepare/approve hardware development documentation, including product requirements, design specifications, and verification protocols.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all product development conforms to the requirements of Design Control procedures.
  • Participate in the risk management process, including preparation of risk analysis and FMEA. Perform single-point-of-failure analyses.
  • Develop, review, and approve engineering change orders, considering improvements to quality, cost, and customer requirements.
Ideal Experience
  • Experience in overall architectures of electronic hardware across different SoC/MCU ARM platforms
  • Experience in standard communication protocols: USB, CAN, SPI, I2C, UART
  • Experience in wireless protocols: BT, WiFi, LTE
  • Experience in the development of battery-operated devices
  • Embedded Linux system hardware design
  • Programming: Python, C, C++, LabView
  • EMI and ESD test methods
  • Automated testing and knowledge of Design-For-Testability techniques
  • Understanding of design control processes following ISO13485 or FDA 21 CFR 820
  • Knowledge of EN60601-1 standard and functional safety requirements
Your Profile:
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science (or BS with equivalent experience)
  • 8-12 years of relevant work experience
  • Enthusiastic Technical Leader with ambitions to grow with the business
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
