WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
This position requires a multi-skilled mechanic with experience preferably in a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. This position will be responsible for but not limited to the maintenance and repair of all facility and utility related equipment. The Facility Mechanic must have the ability to work alone or with others with limited supervision. This position is a 12 hour day shift/ weekend only position from 5:00 am to 5:30 pm. The total hours worked equal 36, but will be paid as 40 hours total.
YOUR ROLE:

Perform scheduled maintenance on utility related equipment

Perform repairs to utility related equipment
-
Perform repairs and modifications to various distribution systems including but not limited to, steam, condensate, compressed air, nitrogen, water for injection, chilled water, and city water

Perform repairs to facilities
-
Assist engineering and others with the design, installation, and certifications of installation and modifications to systems and equipment

Perform scheduled maintenance and testing of fire protection and alarm systems

Perform scheduled maintenance and testing of security systems

Identification of proper spare parts inventories for utility and facility related equipment

Ordering of non-inventory repair parts.
YOUR BACKGROUND:
Education Required/Preferred:
- High School Diploma, GED (required)
- Technical School (AS degree preferred)
Experience Required/Preferred:
- 3-5 years with electrical systems installation and troubleshooting
- Formal training and working knowledge of heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems and troubleshooting
- Demonstrated ability to use various types of welders and shop equipment (lathe, milling machines, etc)
- Must be skilled in pipefitting
- Working knowledge of installations and repairs to various distribution systems including but not limited to city water, process water, compressed air and gases, and steam and condensate.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications/Competencies:
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Windows operating system
- Welding Certifications
- Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices
Working Conditions
- Must meet required gowning requirements and be able to work within a sterile core environment.
- Must have ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Must have the ability to kneel and stoop for extended periods of time.
- Required to work in all areas of the facility with some exposure to heat, dirt, oil, grease, chemicals/chemical fumes, and noise. Must be able to wear all necessary Personal Protective Equipment required for entering various areas of the facility.
- Required to work overtime (at times with short notice) and to carry a wireless communication device for response to off-shift production support, as necessary.
