Manager of National Contracts and Pricing

Manager of National Accounts, Distributors, Government Contract and overall pricing and contracts. Focus on accurate sales, analytics, and systems experts to Support the DI business with GPO, Distributor, Gov’t contracts.  In addition, this role manages 2 National Account Representatives and 4 Inside Contract Specialist, that drive contract compliance, maintain and grow sales. This position will report to Director of Sales.

Position Responsibilities

  • Manages a team of professionals
  • Sets the strategy, vision, and framework for the team to ensure the compliance to our Government, Distributors, and National contracts
  • Oversees the manage/monitor contracts compliance for four major GPO’s - Premier, HPG, Vizient
  • Guides team to develop and analyze pricing for contrast media, injectors at the national level
  • Guides team to create pricing analysis and business reviews for all employees in the field sales organization
  • Collaborate with Finance in long term planning, strategizing, forecasting, budgeting and accruals as far as contract development and enhancement impact
  • Guides team to provide analysis, pricing & marginality for the NA market based on margins for individual Group and portfolio sales
  • Partner with the legal department for all negotiations and contract responses relating the price/portfolio negotiation
  • Create standardization of rebate structures across all modalities
  • Present customers with sales analysis, fees, commitment and compliance reports supporting the National Contract Director
  • Work with team members (Dir of Sales, marketing, Finance) to establish priorities by modality based on business drivers
  • Manage Competitive utilization and compliance reporting by individual contract
  • Collaborates with the team to design, build, and test standard production reports/processes to support businesses across Guerbet, working with Finance, Business Analytics and IT
  • Collaborate with finance, contract administration and corporate accounts to validate customer charge backs to determine eligibility for contracted pricing and rebates
  • Manage the RFI/RFE/RFP Private and Public processes

Position Requirements

Minimum qualification required:    

•    5+ years of related experience in biotech or pharmaceuticals industry and a BS or BA degree
•    Must be familiar with the Business Operations and Contract Compliance Department
•    Strong knowledge and experience with GPOs, Gov’t and Distributors
•    2+ years of managing a cross functional team

Knowledge / experience required beyond minimum qualification:  

 •    5- 10 years of proven sales analytical skills 
•    Candidate should be able to work independently 
•    5 years industry experience of significant previous training and experience in forecasting business growth results in areas/ markets where there was no activity.


Other key factors:    

•    Strong working knowledge of all government pricing regulations, Affordable Care Act, advisories, methodologies and standard operating procedures
•    Strong working knowledge of GPO and Distributor contracts and relationships
•    Strong leadership skills, ability to coach, and cultivate talent
•    Must exercise sound business judgment and strong analytics when reviewing and forming an opinion regarding new contract opportunities
•    Proven track-record of managing ongoing business activity with partners to achieve a positive outcome for the Company, while building mutually beneficial relationships
•    Able to report, in very succinct and solution focused manner, key issues to senior management
•    Strong analytical, verbal, written and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on strategic market management, follow-through, and issue resolution abilities are required
