IT Applications Specialist


The purpose of the IT Applications Specialist is to provide training on the Guerbet digital product portfolio, and to provide back up support to the urology, injector and associated consumable products.  All training must be completed, to a documented competency level, in a clinical environment.  This will include documenting the training, issuing certificates for CE credits and answering internal and external customers questions about the equipment and associated consumable products.

Job Description

Provide on-site and remote training and support for customers.
Makes periodic post installation checks to ensure proper use of the installed equipment and software.  Answer any technical or feature related questions. 
Assists Sales in maintaining business at key accounts using informatics and capital equipment platform by advising injector specialists of any breakdown in communication, unresolved issues or any other situation that would threaten our consumable business
Customer focused with the ability to gain customer respect through knowledge of equipment, hospital environment and hospital information systems.
May be required to assist or complete installation, requiring manual assembly of components of the system.
Provide pre-sales support at customer site, conventions, etc. as requested by the sales team. 
Handle planning details for scheduled applications training, collecting information needed to install and configure the software application as required.  
Communicates extensively with users of this application, troubleshoot issues and perform support for levels I and II
Cross-functionally collaborate with other functions such as Sales, Marketing or R&D

Required Skills & Background

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, associate’s degree in clinical or IT field required.
  • 5 years’ experience in hospital environment; clinical, bio-medical &/or IT
  • Clinical experience preferred in; radiology, cath lab, OR, etc.
  • Familiarity with CT, MR, IR, Cath Lab procedures, applications and workflow
  • Well-versed with common Radiology IT systems and standards such as DICOM, HL7, PACS
  • Expert in local radiology requirements as defined by local authorities, such as CMS, TJC or ACR
  • Teaching/training experience preferred
  • Hospital IT infrastructure (IHE, DICOM, HL7, RIS / HIS, PACS)
  • Training / teaching / certification methods
  • Working knowledge of hospital IT systems, DICOM, PACS and general injector & scanner/magnet interface knowledge.
