EHS- Site Manager

OUR NEED:

 

The EHS Manager is responsible for developing, maintaining, and administering the programs and procedures related to the health, safety, and environment of the Raleigh Imaging Plant.  The EHS programs and procedures will meet or exceed applicable regulation and Corporate requirements. The EHS Manager serves as a resource for other Plant Teams who require assistance in performing related EHS functions.

 

YOUR DUTIES:

 

  1. Develop, maintain, and administer environmental, health and safety programs.
  2. Complete applicable Corporate, Plant, and regulatory reports and requirements.
  3. Trend and review EHS data to determine continuous improvement on EHS plant performance.
  4. Provide assistance as an internal resource to Plant Teams on EHS issues as needed.
  5. Manage waste disposal, including hazardous, non-hazardous, and recycling.
  6. Oversee the safety shoe and the prescription safety eyeglass programs.
  7. Manage contractor safety program, including providing training and issuing access cards to contractors.
  8. Participate in Plant audits and equipment evaluations for EHS compliance.
  9. Provide training assistance to Plant Teams to communicate and ensure compliance with Plant EHS programs and policies.
  10. Support incident investigations.

 

YOUR  RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures and in a manner that eliminates unreasonable risk to health and the environment.  Notify management of unsafe conditions or practices, unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk.  Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to management immediately.  Investigate and respond to EHS concerns of the plant.
  2. Other duties as assigned with or without accommodation.

 

YOUR BACKGROUND:

 

Education required/ preferred:

BS degree in physical or biological science or engineering

Experience:

Minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, and/or environmental science.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

Skills/Competencies:

Possess working knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations. Knowledge of Current Good Manufacturing Practices and experience working in a manufacturing environment are a plus.

Other Skills:

Competency in use of Windows-based computer programs.

 

 

YOUR RELATIONSHIP:

 

  • This position reports to the Plant Manager.
  • This position has one direct report.
  • This position will frequently interact with the Plant Manager, Staff Management, Department Supervisors,  Production Supervisors, and plant employees of all positions. Contact will also be made by the position, as needed, to Corporate EHS managers, regulatory agency personnel, and vendors.
  • Annual budget responsibilities will be maintained as assigned.

 

 

YOUR WORKING CONDITIONS:

 

  • Position is approximately 70% office environment and 30% manufacturing environment
  • Occasion lifting of less than 25 lbs. may be required for moving/carrying monitoring instruments.
  • Extended periods of standing and/or sitting may be required.
