WHAT  WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Under the direction of the Site Procurement Manager, the Purchasing Buyer is responsible for planning and procurement of assigned materials and coordination of assigned programs.

 

YOUR ROLE:

  • Manages the components and other raw materials procurement activities to include MRP review, requisition and PO generation and follow-up to support Production requirements
  • Negotiates with suppliers to optimize price, quality, quantity, delivery etc.
  • Management of A/P queue and resolution of invoice issues
  • Leads the selection and qualification of suppliers in conjunction with Engineering, R&D and Quality
  • Coordinates the timely resolution of rejected material, returns, and recovery charges with suppliers
  • Responsible for the generation and maintenance of purchasing documentation to support internal and external audit requirements
  • Directs and coordinates purchasing activities in support of the introduction of new products and the execution of engineering changes
  • Work closely with Quality in Supplier Management activities to improve the quality and performance from suppliers
  • Assures professional and ethical dealings with external suppliers
  • Perform other duties and special assignments as assigned

YOUR BACKGROUND:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technical field preferred
  • Ability to maintain multiple computerized material management systems; experience with SAP, BPCS, JDE and Agile preferred
  • Experience with MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, with ability to analyze and present spend, production, and supplier data
  • Ability to understand and work through A/P issues
  • Minimum of 5 years purchasing management experience or equivalent
  • Strong leadership and negotiation skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of medical device industry and FDA and ISO procedures and requirements preferred
  • APICS certification preferred
