Assembler - based in Cincinnati 1 1


Working under the direction and general supervision of the supervisor, makes assemblies composed of electrical and mechanical components such as printed wiring boards, control panels, harness, cables, etc. to specifications called for on the assembly drawings.  Work involves a variety of electrical and mechanical components requiring finger dexterity to insert parts, screw in position and solder parts according to assembly drawings.  May perform test on completed assemblies to assure proper functioning.  May perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor which fall within the skill requirements of the job.

Required Skills & Background

Education: Requires the ability to read, write follow written and oral instructions.  Required to read blueprints and wiring diagrams.

Trades Knowledge:

                Materials – Must be able to detect defects in materials and to recognize a variety of part and components.

                Machines and/or Hand Tools – Must know how to use a variety of hand tools, hand power tools.

                Jigs, Dies & Fixtures – Must use templates to locate and place various parts or sub-assemblies for drilling, etc.

                Product, Process and Procedure – Must know how the assembly procedures for various types sizes and kinds of sub-assemblies.  Some knowledge of soldering ability to IPC Class II, helpful.

                Manual Dexterity – Requires a high degree of hand-sight coordination.  Occasionally high degree of finger dexterity required.

Mental Effort or Demand: Requires continual visual and mental attention to insert, fit and align parts properly in sequence.


Physical Effort or Demand: Works usually seated handling average to light weight parts.
