Benefits Specialist

OUR NEED:

As a member of the Benefits Department, the Benefits Specialist will have an integral role in supporting the administration of healthcare and financial benefits to our US workforce of approximately 550 employees across a multi-state environment. Responsible for benefits operation excellence, ensuring compliance with benefit plans and legal guidance, as well as issue resolution. Additionally, the Benefits Specialists will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to contribute to best in class benefit offerings, education initiatives, communications, and processes enables the delivery of benefits offered to Guerbet employees. This position is fully remote, but will need to sit within the greater Raleigh area for occasional site visits. 

 

YOUR DUTIES:

  • Develop a strong understanding of the benefits offered by Guerbet, and serve as the first line contact for questions from employees, managers and HR colleagues.
  • Administer personal leave and FMLA policy, including assisting employees in the request process, coordinating leave notifications with internal stakeholders, and ensuring accurate data is entered into the payroll system.
  • Ensure the timely transmission of employee and employer payroll contributions to applicable vendors on a weekly basis.
  • Facilitate weekly New Hire benefits presentations, and assist with new hire enrollment, as needed.
  • Maintain employee records and benefits files.
  • First point of contact for employees’ inquiries.
  • Assist in the implementation of employee communication campaigns, and events.
  • Collaborate in the implementation of new benefits programs and/or benefit program design changes.
  • Aid in the preparation and execution of annual open enrollment activities, service awards, and annual employee wellness events.
  • Assist with internal and external audits.
  • Collaborate in the improvement of benefits processes, policies, programs and procedures.
  • Process invoices for Benefits/HR - related vendors.

YOUR PROFILE:

  • Approval of exceptions to new hire or QLE enrollment periods.
  • Determination of FMLA eligibility.
  • Timing of payroll contribution submissions, and invoices.
  • Improvements to New Hire presentation material.
  • Determination of dates for notification of employee educational opportunities.
  • When to escalate a topic, challenge for support.

YOUR BACKGROUND:

  • 2+ years of Benefits experience in a multi-location / multi state environment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of FMLA, state leave policies.
  • Familiarity with state and federal compliance preferred.
  • Proficiency MS Office products (Outlook, Excel, Teams, Powerpoint)

  • Strong knowledge of Excel (V-look-up, pivot tables and charts, mail merge etc…) is critical.

  • Experience with HRIS systems, ADP and Success Factors preferred.
  • SharePoint experience a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience driving processes that require attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Maintain high level of confidentiality when handling sensitive matters.
