General management

  • Develop and maintain skilled, high performance and motivated team. Assign tasks to the Medical Affairs (MA) team and provide ongoing assessment of resources and competences needs. Identifies issues that impact resource allocation or competence needs and provide solutions.
  • Develop MA team objectives and assess the performance of the MA team.
  • Manage directly the Medical Science Liaison (MSL) team in Korea to reach the goals of the MSL organization and national priorities in a field based approach. Support, coaches the MSLs to develop and improve the effectiveness of the MSL organization.
  • Support the General Manager in oversight of all activities undertaken by the MA team.
  • Manage the Medical Affairs budget properly within estimation.
  • Develop, update and ensure implementation of SOPs related to MA activities.

 

Medical Affairs Management

 

  • Implements locally the Group MA policy, strategy and objectives as defined by the Global Head of Development, Medical & Regulatory Affairs. Adapt own role and MSL organization tactics in response to changing company strategies.
  • Ensure appropriate dissemination of scientific and clinical information regarding marketed and pipeline products, in a timely, ethical and customer-focused manner.
  • Establish and review MA priorities. Manage multiple, sometimes conflicting priorities.
  • Support other departments (e.g. Regulatory Affairs and Pharmacovigilance, Marketing, Commercial) requesting Medical Science support.
  • On request of managers, represent Guerbet to address MA and Medical Science topics during Regulatory, Compliance and partners interactions.   

 

Medical Affairs operations

  • Represent Guerbet at Health Care Professionals meetings, congresses and local symposia.
  • Identify and maintain communication with key opinion leaders at key academic centers, professional organizations and medical societies.
  • Collate and report changes in medical practices and advances in knowledge in relation to the use of Guerbet products with recommendations for action to relevant Guerbet personnel.
  • Implement investigator-initiated studies program and process.
  • Develop and facilitate educational initiatives according to local regulation.
  • Deliver presentations on scientific topics to Health Care Professionals according to local regulation.
  • Organize and supervise local advisory boards.
  • Local responsible person for Medical Information. Elaborate part or full response to complex medical queries, according to level of expertise developed. Generate standard response letters.
  • Perform Medical Science validation of all scientific presentations, product trainings and promotional materials to be used.
  • Organize delivery of Medical Science training internally.
  • Implement global strategy and develop local strategy for Guerbet-sponsored trials.
  • Facilitate preclinical research and clinical research in cooperation with Research and Innovation and Clinical Development, respectively.
  • Facilitate publication of manuscripts and presentation of scientific data in medical conferences by key opinion leaders.
  • Support in collating and reporting data in connection with safety events that arise in the context of use of Guerbet products, on request from LRPPV.
  • On-site support and assistance during product evaluation or trial process
  • Own full responsibilities of the MSL role and when needed act as MSL to the medical/scientific community.

 

Education and experience

  • Advanced degree in an appropriate discipline (e.g. epidemiology, health administration, health services, medicine, pharmacy, human biology, pharmacoeconomics, psychology, statistics, etc).
  • 5 – 8 years industry experience in industry Medical Affairs/clinical operations and at least one year of team management experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of local and international regulation, guidelines and quality standards related to Medical Affairs ad Clinical operations.
  • Previous pharmaceutical industry experience is preferred.
  • Previous education and/or professional experience in medical imaging is a plus

  • Proficiency in English and local language(s).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Ability to network and partner with important external customers, including key opinion leaders and regional thought leaders, academic institutions, large group practices, medical societies, scientific bodies, medical directors and pharmacy directors.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for win-win interactions and to operate them while implementing scientific and educational strategies.
  • Technical skills in the areas of health care policy, cost-effectiveness studies, disease burden studies, epidemiology, statistics, clinical study data articulation, differentiation and detailing.
  • Excellent analytical and learning skills allowing to transform knowledge into clear, scientifically sound and convincing communication.
  • Ability to prioritize and work effectively in a constantly changing environment.
  • Ability to think and act globally with a customer focus and a solution orientation.
  • Ability to work successfully in a team / cross-functional environment.
  • Ability to lead and influence.
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to travel since the position is associated with up to 40% travel time.
